According to legend the church was built over the cedar stump that seeped aromatic oil, myrrh. Under that cedar St. Nino, who preached Christianity in Georgia, prayed.

3 rd Day.
After breakfast drive to Kakheti – wine producing region in eastern Georgia. First you visit the Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe.
The monastery now functions as a nunnery and is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia, due to its association with St. Nino, the 4th-century female evangelist of Georgians, whose relics are shrined there. Some 3 km from the convent, a small Chapel of St. Zabulon and St. Sosana was constructed, in the 1990s, to house a St. Nino’s Spring, which, according to a local legend, emerged through Nino’s prayers and is believed to have a healing power.
Then we visit the city of lovers – Signagi. It serves as a popular tourist destination due to its location at the heart of Georgia’s vine-growing regions, as well as its picturesque landscapes, pastel houses and narrow, cobblestone streets. Located on a steep hill, Signagi overlooks the vast Alazani Valley, with the Caucasus Mountains visible at a distance.
Our route goes to Gurdjaani. Dinner and tasting wine of the famous winemaker Simon Ruadze. Master class on making Geogian bread.
After that you head to Kvareli a town in northeastern in Kakheti Province, Georgia. Located in the Alazani Valley, near the foothills of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Here you visit the largest storage of Georgian wines kept in the 7.7 km long tunnel shaped wine cellar which consists of 2 large parallel tunnels linked with 13 small galleries. The dampness of 70% and the ideal temperature (12-14˚C) for storing and ageing wine stays throughout the year. The tunnels (gvirabi) were purchased by the Winery Khareba who restored them and use them to store and age about 25,000 bottles of its wine. In Khareba winery you can taste 30 varieties of the company’s best wines. 60 meters above the tunnels there is a nice building mixed with the nature, the waterfall falling by, and garden with century-old trees, restaurant terrace and the tower, which offers splendid views over the Alazani Valley and Kvareli vineyards.
There are two versions of building the tunnel. First is that it was built by metro builders, at the begining of 1960s as metro was being built at that time in Tbilisi, for the winery purpose. The second version is that it was built by the end of 1950s for the military purposes during the Cold War.

It was the place where Chavchavadze frequently entertained foreign guests with music, wit, and – most especially – the fine vintages made at his estate marani (winery). Tsinandali keeps touching history of love between Nino Chavchavadze and Alexander Griboedov.
