Eight Days Tour In Eastern Georgia

1st Day

Arrival in Tbilisi and transfer to the hotel.

2nd Day

After the breakfast we’ll see Tbilisi, an old and new parts of the city

The sightseeing tour will begin of the Temple Metekhi, where the Queen Tamar prayed. The most picturesque view of Old Tbilisi opens in front of you.

Then we’ll visit the ancient fortress of Narikala. It is the best-known place of Old Tbilisi, that palace is “soul of the City “. The fortress is located on the hill of Sololaki, where Opens a panoramic view of the city.

Then we will visit an important historical part of the city quarter of Abanotubani, where the well-known sulfuric baths are located. Exactly here begins construction of Tbilisi that describes the history of Georgia , “tbili” means  in Georgia “warm”. When the king of Georgia Vakhtang Gorgasali found out this palace  has ordered to build the city here. The design of these sulfur baths is interesting – it is executed in style of  east and often call them the Turkish baths.

We’ll continue walking to Shardeni Street.

After that we’ll Walk on the Bridge of Peace. It is made of a metal framework and completely covered with glass. The bridge is beautiful as day and as night because here is the whole interactive light system. Bridge of Peace is entered into the list of the best bridges of the world. Then we’ll visit Mtatsminda. That is an amusement facility park which is located at the top of Mount Mtatsminda on 770 meter height overlooking the Georgian capital Tbilisi. It’s the highest point in Tbilisi and the best place for fun and relaxation. You can find various cafes, souvenirs shops, entertainment center for children, wedding house, picnic zones, a big Ferris Wheel at the edge of the mountain, offering a splendid view over the city, funicular tram and the other fun attractions on that place.

3rd Day

After the breakfast we’ll go toward historical Mtskheta.

At first we’ll see Jvari Monastery – is a 6th century Georgian Orthodox Monastery. Along with the other historic structures of Mtskheta, it is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Then we’ll visit Svetitskhoveli Monastery –  is known as the burial site of Christ’s mantle. The present structure was completed in 1029 by the medieval Georgian architect Arsukisdze, also the site itself dates back to the early fourth century. Svetitskhoveli is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

After that we’ll go toward Kazbegi and at the road we’ll visit Ananuri at first. Ananuri  is a castle complex on the Aragvi River in Georgia. It was built in the 13th century. There is fascinating sights over the Zhinvali Reservoir.

Next we’ll visit Gudauri – is a ski resort in the Stephantsminda district, at an elevation 2.200 metres above the sea level. The resort offers high quality skiing oppoertunities.

At last we’ll visit Kazbegi – is the region of Mtskheta – Mtianeti. You can visit Gergeti Trinity Church there. If you want to see graceful nature, you won’t miss Kazbegi region. Kazbegi Mountain is the major mountain of the Caucasus located on the border of Georgi’s Kazbegi District and Russia’s Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.

Dinner and overnight in Kazbegi or in Gudauri.

4th Day

After the breakfast we’ll travel toward Gori. Gori is a city in eastern Georgia, which serves as the regional capital of Inner Kartli.

We’ll visit Variani, where is the house of Iakob Gogebashvili and then we’ll visit Stalini museum.

After that we’ll see Uplistskihe. It’s built on a high rocky left bank of the Kura River. It contains various structures dating from the early Iron Age to the Late Middle Ages.

We’ll have picnic in natue and then we’ll continue our tour toward Akhaltsikhe.

5th Day

After  the breakfast we’ll start our tour with Vardzia.

Vardzia is a cave monastery in the southern Georgia. Dating to the 1180s during the Golden Age of Queen Tamar and Shota Rustaveli, has an important series of wall paintings.

We’ll have lunch in nature.

Then we’ll see Rabati Castle. It’s a medieval castle complex in Akhaltsikhe. It was built in the 13th century. It is an amazing castle with its gorgeous sights.

We can see Faravani Lake and Armenian villages, too.

At last we’ll return in Tbilisi. Dinner and overnight will be there.

6th Day

After the breakfast we’’ start our day with historical Kakheti.

Kakheti is a region in eastern Georgia from the historical province of Kakheti and the small mountainous province of Tusheti. Telavi is its capital. Kakheti is known as birthplace of wine.

Then we’ll visit Ikalto. It was founded bu St. Zenon, one of the 13 Syrian Fathers, in the late 6th century. It was known as one of the most significant cultural and scholastic centre og Georgia. An academy was founded at the monastery during king David the Builder by arsen Ikaltoeli in the early 12th century. The Academy of Ikalto trainet its students in many directs. According to a lehend Shota Rustaveli studied there.

Next we’ll go to Alaverdi. Alaverdi  Cathedral  was built in the beginning of the 11th century and was one of the tallest structures of the time. The temple is still called St. George Cathedral

Then we’ll go to Tsinandali – is a village in Kakheti, noted for the estate and its historic winery which once belonged to the 19th century aristocrat poet Alexander Chavchavadze. It’s situated in the district of Telavi. You can taste wine there.

7th Day

After the breakfast we’ll begin from Signagi – is the administrative center of the Sighnaghi Municipality. Also it’s known as “City of Love”. There is marketplace of the oldest pictures, for ex: Niko Phirosmani and so on.

Then we’ll visit Bodbe Nuns Monastery. It’s a Georgian Orthodox Monastic complex and the seat of the Bishops of Bodbe. It was built in the 9th century, but it has been significantly remodeled, especially in the 17th century. The monastery now functions as a nunnery and is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia, due to its association with St Nino the 4th century female evangelist of Georgians, whose relics are buried there.

Then we’ll have lunch.

At last we’ll visit David Gareja Monastery Complex. It’s a rock – hewn Georgian Orthodox monastery complex located on the half – desert slopes of mount Gareja. The complex includes hundreds of cells, churches, chapels, refectories an livin quarters hollowed out of the rock face. Part of the complex is located in the Agstafa Rayon of Azerbaijan and has become subject to a border dispute between Georgia and Azerbaijan. The area is also a home to protected animal species and evidence of some of the oldest human habitations in the region. That place is really adorable for Georgians and for all tourists, because there is excellent nature. It isn’t easy to live there, because there is strict weather.

After that we’ll return in Tbilisi.

8th Day
